The Upright Piano Hunt

The Yerba Buena Gardens Conservancy, a local 501 c 3 that manages the urban oasis in downtown San Francisco, is in search of a working upright piano.
The piano will be painted annually by a local artist, selected through a set criterion and a theme to reflect the gardens and the programming on site that takes place each year. In a typical year we host over 80 free events on the Great Lawn.
The Conservancy will gladly pick it up from the piano’s current home, and offer some discreet recognition of the donor, if so desired. The Conservancy will provide a letter as to the donation, for tax purposes. The piano will then be painted and placed by the Great Lawn daily from Memorial Day through Labor Day, to be played by anyone
and everyone, between the hours of 11am – 3pm, except on concert days and rainy days. It will be stored in an indoor facility outside these hours.
If you have a working piano, and are willing to part with it for a great cause of community building, and activating the soul of downtown San Francisco with an addition that is sure to bring smiles and rejuvenation, please reach out to:
